That graphics card isn't amazing but for dolphin you really rely mostly on your CPU so that's what you should be concentrating on. That's why I Was talking about your CPU, because the GPU does very very little.
edit: OK I did read them actually >_> your GPU is only going to be used for things like AA and higher resolution. Your laptop will hit at least 70C while playing most likely (that's fine honestly, I keep a fan on mine sometimes or just take a break once every 15-25 minutes)
You'll get very different results game to game. Some games run really well on mine, especially gamecube games. Some games won't run well at all. Your graphics card is fine for what you need but if I could make a suggestion for you:
Buy a low end laptop and a high end desktop/ build a desktop.
A high end desktop + low end laptop will run you the same price as a high end laptop and you'll get more functionality. Just keep that in mind.
Hm... that was a good post, very good advice. I may take your advice on the low end laptop, high end desktop thing. However I do have a bit of a problem with that. I purchased all the equipment to build a new desktop about a year and a half ago, and just never really got around to building it because I didnt need it, and the the motherboard is for the core 2 duo processor's only. I also bought a dual core processor and ddr2 memory. Unfortunately if I were to try to sell this stuff new I probably wouldnt get near what I paid for it, and it would kinda be a waste to sell all of that stuff and buy an I processor and ddr3 memory. The I processors and ddr3 are quite a bit more expensive than the dual core and ddr2 memory would be also, and my budget just doesnt permit that right now.
So im kind of stuck with the 3.16 core 2 duo and 4gb of ddr2 for now for a desktop. And I wont be able to do much overclocking at all because im using a LANBOX as my tower, which is very small - it was hell trying to find a CPU heatsink and fan that would fit. I am hoping that this processor will run the Dolphin decently.
Oh and by the way, im kind of stuck on my decision on a laptop now... I can buy an inspiron 15 with windows 7 and the pentium dual core T4400 and 2 gigs of ddr2 for about $300, or I can get the Vostro 3400 with windows 7 with the I3 and 2 gigs of ddr3 for about $420. Which should I go with?
